A beloved winter attraction is making its way back to Colorado. Ice Castles, the dazzling experience known for its massive frozen sculptures, winding mazes, and sparkling tunnels, will return to two locations this season.
Visitors can once again enjoy the icy wonderlands in Cripple Creek and Silverthorne, where crews are scheduled to begin construction next month. Each castle is hand-crafted using thousands of icicles grown and placed by artists who shape the structures into grand towers, archways, slides, and illuminated caverns.
The Ice Castles traditionally open in late December, though exact opening dates depend on weather conditions and the pace of construction. Organizers recommend keeping an eye on local updates as the season approaches.
