Expect Delays on Highway 285 and Highway 50 [Update]

Expect delays on Highway 285 north and south of Fairplay.

The Colorado Department of Transportation 20-mile project includes resurfacing on the highway and the addition of passing lanes south of Fairplay.

Motorists can expect significant delays with a reduced 40 mile per hour speed limit and alternating one-lane traffic.

The project is to completed by November.

Work on the $4 million improvement project will continue through October.

The Colorado Department of Transportation also continues construction on Highway 50 through Howard. The project includes the installation of slow-vehicle turnouts and passing lanes in both directions.

The Eastbound lane is closed for a five mile stretch with shoulder closures along the same stretch. Work on the $4 million improvement project will continue through October.
