Salida has been named one of five Gateway Communities to the Continental Divide Trail in the past year, and yesterday, the Salida Chamber held a creative mixer at the Scout Hut to discuss ways the community could use this to improve the amount of people both using the trail and coming into town during their hikes.
Members of the Continental Divide Trail Coalition were there, as well as business member and people active in the trail.
Chamber Director Lori Roberts says the goal now is to continue to gather ideas from the community stressing that the communities which have seen the most benefit from being named a gateway community have taken it upon themselves to act on that.
For more information, you can visit the Salida Chamber website. Information on the CDT can be found under the visitors tab.
