Governor Polis Positive for COVID-19

Governor Jared Polis announced over the weekend that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.   

Polis is said to be asymptomatic, feeling well, and continues to isolate at home.   

Polis said he will work remotely and continue to fulfill his duties and responsibilities.   

Covid-19 has been surging in Colorado and around the country.  The state estimates that one in 41 people are contagious.  

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 53 new Covid-19 cases in the last 7 days, 110 in the last 14 days, for a 2-week positivity rate of 4.74 percent.  

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center has one Covid-19 patient and is currently at 52 percent capacity.
