A young girl died Friday night after sliding under a truck that was towing her in a sled along a snow-packed road in Park County.
The driver, identified by the State Patrol as Roberto Herrera of Forney, Texas, was pulling four sleds on the back of his pickup on Park County Road 60 near Highway 285. One of the children fell off the sled and Herrera brought the truck to a stop.
An 11-year-old girl in another sled was unable to stop and went under the rear of the pickup, striking the undercarriage and suffering fatal injuries.
Alcohol and drug use are not suspected as contributing factors. The accident remains under investigation.
