Governor Jared Polis has ordered all Colorado flags to be flown at half-staff through sunset Sunday in recognition of the victims of a church shooting in Minneapolis.
The shooting occurred during Mass at a Catholic Church as children celebrated the first week of school.
Authorities say two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed, and 17 others were wounded, including 14 children. The Minneapolis police chief described the act of violence as “absolutely incomprehensible.”
The governor’s order is intended as a mark of respect for the lives lost and those injured in the tragedy.
