Carie Hallford, co-owner of Return to Nature Funeral Home, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison on state charges related to abuse of a corpse after investigators discovered nearly 200 decomposing bodies at the business’s Penrose location.
Hallford had previously received an 18-year sentence in federal court stemming from the same case.
She and her husband, Jon Hallford, who co-owned the funeral home, both faced a range of state and federal charges connected to the investigation.
