An update on the East Canyon Fire burning west of Durango.
The wildfire has burned nearly 3,000 acres and was 80 percent contained as of last night.
The East Canyon Fire began June 14 and is believed to have been started by lightning.
About 362 firefighters are working to extinguish hot spots on the south and west sides of the fire. The north and east sides of the fire are fully contained.
