The Florissant Fire Department responded this week to reports of an explosion followed by a widespread power outage in Florissant.
Upon arrival, crews determined that a large dump truck had made contact with overhead power lines, triggering a blown breaker and causing the loud boom reported by residents.
Officials confirmed that the damaged power line has since been repaired and electricity has been fully restored to the affected area. Fire crews also reported no signs of an active fire at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation, though it appears to have been accidental.
