Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 80 new Covid-19 cases in the last 7 days, 153 in the last 14 days, for a 2-week positivity rate of 6.62%.   

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center has 3 Covid-19 patients and are at 76 percent capacity.   

The San Luis Valley has 298 known cases of Covid-19 including 6 in Saguache County and 172 in Alamosa County.   

Chaffee County Public Health continues to offer free Covid-19 testing Monday through Friday in Salida at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds and Wednesdays in Buena Vista at the Annex.         

Testing is by appointment only.  Appointments must be scheduled by 4 pm the day before testing is held.  To be screened and scheduled, call Public Health at 539-4510.         

Chaffee County Public Health has launched “Chaffee’s Got HEART.”  County residents are encouraged to take the pledge to follow the 5 commitments to containment:       

Hang at home is sick.           

Excel at handwashing.           

Always wear a mask in public.           

Respect social distancing.

Danny “Dan R” Ridenour has been in radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years, starting as a senior in high school in Rogers, Arkansas. His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
