After school activities for Cotopaxi may resume, under strict guidelines, effective May 6th. This excludes any isolated or quarantined students.
Out of district competition may resume Thursday, May 13th. Coaches will be contacting athletes with updates and expectations.
“Our main goal as an athletics staff is to keep the kids safe and get them back on the field and track. We want our kids to be able to finish the year strong,” Athletic Director Troy Thornton said in an open letter to students and parents.
Thornton also asked everyone to please follow guidelines: Wash your hands, wear your mask, and if you feel unwell do not come to school or practice.
Practice guidelines will be: Masks required by all participants unless able to significantly socially distance (10ft or further). All coaches will fill out a symptom tracking sheet everyday before practice begins. If an athlete has any symptoms or does not feel well they will be sent home immediately.
If an athlete is not feeling well do not send them to practice or school.
