An autopsy report from the El Paso County Coroner’s Office has concluded that 27-year-old Kaden Sites died by suicide after going missing during a turkey hunting trip in April.

Sites, of Salida, was reported missing after he failed to return from a hunting trip. Family members later located his vehicle near the Blanks Cabin Trailhead on Mount Shavano.

Volunteers, search teams, and members of the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search of the area for more than a week.

His body was eventually discovered in a remote wilderness area near Tabeguache Creek.
