Salida Mountain Trails and the City of Salida have begun Phase 1 construction of the new Salida Bike Park.
The project will completely redesign the existing bike park with improvements aimed at enhancing trail flow, rider progression, and the overall experience for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.
To allow construction crews to safely move heavy equipment and materials into the project area, trail access immediately surrounding the bike park will be temporarily closed during the initial phase of construction.
Officials say the broader trail network will remain accessible, with detours available around the closure area so users can continue to access surrounding trails.
The bike park redesign is expected to create a more modern facility and expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors in Salida.
