The Aspen Acres Fire is 36% contained after burning 99,000 acres.

Highway 96 has reopened from Westcliffe to the Pueblo County line allowing Wetmore residents to begin returning home.  All evacuations orders have been lifted for Beulah.

It is being reported that crews are making progress, but there is still significant fire activity. There is considerable risk for growth on the southwest edge of the fire, with possible impact to Rye. Huerfano County issued new evacuation orders in Forest Service lands east of Williams Creek.      

The Willow Fire in the Mount Massive Wilderness Area in Lake County west of Leadville has grown to just over 6,500 acres with 28% containment.

Firefighters are continuing to strengthen containment lines south of Turquoise Lake while working to establish containment in the Bald Eagle Mountain area. 

The Gold Mountain Fire burning in Montrose, Ouray and Gunnison counties is 37,000 acres with 12% containment.

There are 5 other large wildfires burning in the state: the Fishhook, Green Ridge and PL Gulch fires in northern Colorado and the Elk and Ferris fires in the southwest part of the state.      

Custer County has moved to Stage 3 Fire Restrictions. This is the highest level of fire restrictions.

All outdoor fires prohibited. 

Stage 2 Fire Restrictions remain in effect for all public and private lands in Chaffee, Park, Lake, Saguache and Fremont Counties.
