Governor Jared Polis signed a bill into law yesterday that will issue tax refunds to most Colorado taxpayers this summer instead of having residents wait until next year when they file their taxes.
Every Coloradan who files taxes by the end of May should get a check of at least $500. Those who file jointly will get $1,000, up from the $400 and $800 that were initially announced.
About 3 million Coloradans will receive the money in August or early September.

His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
