The Colorado Gator Farm is working to raise funds to potentially acquire the recently closed Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience in Canon City.
According to the Gator Farm, it was approached with the opportunity to purchase the property as a second location. The Dinosaur Experience site spans 35 acres and includes a 14,000-square-foot museum facility.
To support the possible expansion, the Gator Farm has launched a crowdfunding campaign, which is available through its Facebook page.
Officials emphasized that the current Mosca location—home to hundreds of alligators—would remain open and would not be relocated.
