Chaffee County’s Two Week Positivity Rate Drops to 2.03%

Chaffee County Public Health is reporting 12 new Covid-19 cases in the last 7 days, 20 in the last 14 days, for a two-week positivity rate of 2.03 percent.   

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center currently has 1 Covid-19 patient and is operating at 36 percent capacity.   

Chaffee County adopted an amended local Public Health order yesterday. The new local health order continues the mask mandate. Masks must be worn in indoor public spaces, regardless of how many people are present. The cap on indoor events is based on a 6’ social distancing requirement. Outdoor events are capped at 2,000 participants. Any event planner must include details on their Covid-19 mitigation plan for their special event application submitted to the county. Schools and school related activities will continue to follow the guidance issued by the state for school operations.

Though Chaffee County Public Health has concluded its first-dose mass vaccination clinics, they still offer Covid-19 vaccinations for the general public by appointment. People seeking a first-dose vaccination can call 719-539-4510. Covid-19 vaccinations will be administered on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings. Standard vaccinations will be given on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
