Chaffee County Transitions to ‘Safer At Home’

Chaffee County has moved from ‘Stay-at-Home’ to ‘Safer-at-Home’.

Chaffee County is taking a phased approach to reopening local businesses.

Phase 1 begins today with salons, tattoo parlors, dog grooming, massage therapy, along with non-permitted construction, libraries, retail, personal trainers, art galleries, real estate and offices allowed to open with restrictions.

Phase 2 is for a May 15th opening.  Those businesses include restaurants and bars, spas and hot springs, gyms and fitness centers and faith-based functions with 10 or fewer people in attendance.

Phase 3 is for a June 1st opening.  Those businesses include all short-term lodging, guiding and outfitter related businesses, along with campgrounds, RV parks, and other tourism related businesses.

Prior to opening, all businesses will be required to complete a Safe Business Checklist.  The checklist will be reviewed, approved or not, and those that have a safety plan that meets all of the requirements will receive a certificate of safety to be placed in a public area at the business.

Second homeowners will be allowed back in Chaffee County May 16th.  However, they must comply with the local health order and follow isolation and quarantine requirements.
