Chaffee Commissioners Extend Emergency Declaration, Delay Nestle Renewal

Chaffee County Commissioners voted yesterday to extend their declaration of a local disaster emergency.

Commissioners first declared a state of emergency October 2nd in response to the Decker Fire.

In another matter, the Nestle Waters 1041 permit renewal was on the agenda, but the assistant county attorney advised commissioners that a 30-day advance notice of the hearing was not posted.

Commissioners were about to table the measure when Nestle representative Larry Lawrence asked for a six-month continuance to give Nestle time to prepare for public comment.

Commissioners agreed and set the hearing for the renewal of Nestle Waters 1041 permit for April.
