CDOT to Reduce Speed Limit on CO Highway 16 for Safety Improvements

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced a speed limit reduction on CO Highway 16 (Mesa Ridge Parkway) in Fountain. Beginning August 4, the speed limit will drop from 55 MPH to 45 MPH along the stretch from Interstate 25 (Mile Point 0) to the intersection of CO 21 and Mesa Ridge Parkway (MP 3.11).

The change comes in response to increased traffic due to significant commercial and residential development along the corridor. CDOT’s traffic safety analysis concluded that lower vehicle speeds will improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians in the area.

Motorists are advised to be aware of the new speed limit and adjust their driving accordingly.
