The Chaffee County Democrats are gearing up for what, according to their press release, is anticipated to be the most expensive
election season in Chaffee County’s history, as both the Democratic and Republican parties find
themselves nearly tied in funding.
Their 3rd Annual Fundraiser on July 11 attracted over 100 attendees and raised $30,000. They celebrated their primary winners who will be competing in the general election this November:
- Consuelo Redhorse: Colorado House District 13
- Justin Kurth: Colorado State Senate District 4
- Sophia Gibb: Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder
- PT Wood: Chaffee County Commissioner
The fundraising event also honored outgoing leaders Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie and
Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder Lori Mitchell.
The Democrats say are committed to continuing to fundraise to get the vote out and support their candidates. They aim to raise $50,000 this year
“In Chaffee County, we stand for the rule of law, a strong economy, education, and equal treatment
for all,” said Colorado Senate President James Coleman. The group urges community members to get involved and support the candidates who represent their values.
