Fire officials report that the KO Fire in Fremont County is now 100 percent contained.

The fire prompted mandatory evacuation orders in the area of Fremont County Road F45 and resulted in the temporary closure of Colorado Highway 115. Authorities say evacuation orders have been lifted and Highway 115 has reopened to traffic.

The KO Fire burned approximately 64 acres before firefighters were able to bring it under full containment.

Although the immediate threat has passed, motorists traveling on Highway 115 are encouraged to use caution and watch for fire personnel and equipment that remain in the area conducting mop-up and monitoring operations.

Officials thanked firefighters and emergency responders for their efforts in quickly containing the fire and helping protect nearby residents and property.
