Great Colorado vs. Texas Tomato War Returns to Buena Vista in August

The fifth annual Great Colorado vs. Texas Tomato War will return to Buena Vista on Saturday, August 29.

Organized by the Buena Vista Optimist Club, the event pits teams representing Colorado and Texas against one another in a friendly battle using tons of well-ripened tomatoes.

The Tomato War serves as a fundraiser for the Optimist Club, which supports more than 30 youth organizations, programs, and activities throughout Chaffee County.

Participants can compete as individuals or as part of a team, with proceeds helping fund local youth initiatives across the county.
