The Buena Vista Board of Trustees approved a temporary moratorium on data centers during its meeting last week.
The moratorium is in effect through December 9 and temporarily pauses the acceptance of applications for data center use permits within the town.
Town officials say the measure will provide time for trustees and staff to review and update local development codes before any data center proposals are submitted for consideration.
The action is intended to ensure that regulations addressing issues such as land use, infrastructure demands, and community impacts are in place before future data center projects are proposed in Buena Vista.
