The Howard Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting drone mapping operations over Fremont County Roads 46, 47, and 48 in the coming weeks.
Department officials say the aerial mapping project is part of ongoing pre-incident planning efforts designed to improve emergency response capabilities throughout the area.
The drone-generated maps will help first responders better understand road access, terrain, structures, and other critical features that may be important during emergencies such as wildfires, medical calls, and rescue operations.
Fire officials say the project is intended to enhance preparedness and support faster, more effective emergency response when incidents occur.
