No injuries were reported after a fire involving a trash truck in Buena Vista yesterday morning.
According to the Buena Vista Police Department, officers responded to North Colorado Avenue after an item caught fire in the bed of a trash truck. Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and extinguished the flames.
Buena Vista Public Works crews also responded to assist with cleanup efforts after trash and debris had to be removed from the truck. Public Works employees helped spread dirt and sweep the roadway once the fire was under control.
While the exact cause of the fire has not been confirmed, officials say lithium-ion batteries are suspected.
