Christopher Clements Obituary
Chris Clements, formerly of Chestertown, Maryland, passed away on May 4, 2026, after calling Buena Vista home for the past 50 years.
Chris retired from Buena Vista Corrections in 1995 following a dedicated 19-year career. Even after retirement, he maintained cherished friendships with former coworkers from the prison, meeting regularly for breakfast at Jan’s.
Known for living life on his own terms, Chris was a private man with a sentimental side, a clever sense of humor, and a deep love for animals. He found joy in gardening and was an avid apiarist who took pride in caring for his bees.
Chris spent the majority of his school years in Puerto Rico and lived on Ramey Air Force Base as a young adult, experiences that remain an important part of his life story. He left for Washington University in Maryland after his senior year.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Barbara Zucker; his sons, Jeremy Clements, Merrick Clements, and Philip Clements; his brother Tony Clements and sister Kitty Marie; daughter-in-law Theresa Clements; and his grandchildren Kailer Clements, Cyris Clements, Isaiah Clements, Kaya Clements, and Tiger-Lily Clements.
He will be remembered for his independence, quiet loyalty, and the unique way he connected with those closest to him.
