Buena Vista Police have arrested a suspect following a series of break-ins reported early Sunday morning at multiple local businesses. Authorities say the incidents involved Sundog Colorado, Black Burro Bikes, Builders First Source, Once Upon a Trapeze, as well as a vehicle.
An employee at Black Burro Bikes reported seeing a man riding nearby on a bicycle believed to have been stolen from the shop. Investigators later learned from the owner of Sundog Colorado that the same individual was also wearing clothing allegedly taken from their store.
Police located the suspect near a Subway restaurant along Highway 24. He was identified as 28-year-old Isaiah Wait of Salida.
Wait faces multiple charges, including five counts of theft, four counts of burglary, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of attempted motor vehicle theft. His bond has been set at $20,000. Officers say several items believed to have been stolen were recovered during the investigation.
