The remains of 27-year-old Kaden Sites was discovered over the weekend in a remote area near Tabeguache Creek, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Sites was found Saturday approximately a mile and a half from his vehicle in a wilderness area. He had been missing for 10 days after failing to return from a hunting trip.

Officials have not yet released a cause of death, but investigators say foul play is not suspected.

In a statement, Chaffee County Sheriff Andy Rohrich expressed condolences to the family, saying the loss has deeply affected the community.

“Our hearts go out to the Sites family,” Rohrich said. “Chaffee County has lost a wonderful member of our community, leaving a void in our hearts. There was always hope that Kaden would be found alive, and we are grateful the family can now have some level of closure. Thank you to everyone who helped in the effort to bring Kaden home.”
