A Stephen Ramsbottom, a native of Cripple Creek, will be honored this week for his service and sacrifice in the U.S. military.
Major Ramsbottom was among 25 service members wounded in an attack in Kuwait that claimed the lives of six troops during the early stages of Operation Epic Fury.
In recognition of his bravery and dedication, Teller County officials will hold a special ceremony during the Board of County Commissioners meeting in Cripple Creek. The tribute is scheduled to begin at 9:15 a.m., with a reception to follow.
Beyond his service in Kuwait, Major Ramsbottom is a veteran of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
