The Bureau of Land Management has opened a public comment period for the proposed Iron Mountain Quarry Expansion Environmental Assessment, inviting community members to share their input through April 29.

The proposal outlines an expansion that would add just over 37 acres of mineral resource development, bringing the total project area to 47 acres of BLM-managed land. The site is located off Iron Mountain Road in Fremont County.

Officials say public feedback will play an important role in evaluating the environmental impacts and overall scope of the project. All comments must be submitted online through the project’s documents page at ePlanning.blm.gov.
