A small wildfire near Clear Creek Reservoir is now 75% contained after crews responded quickly to reports of smoke earlier this week.
The Chaffee County Fire Protection District was dispatched to the scene Monday, where firefighters worked to contain the blaze, which burned approximately a quarter acre.
Investigators have since confirmed the fire was human-caused, sparked by an unattended campfire.
Officials are reminding the public to fully extinguish campfires and follow all fire safety guidelines, especially as conditions across the region remain dry and increase the risk of wildfire.
