There’s a full schedule of events happening across Chaffee County this weekend and into early next week.

First Friday – “Welcome Spring”
Tonight marks First Friday in downtown Salida with the theme “Welcome Spring.” Local art galleries will stay open late, offering demonstrations, artist receptions, live music, and opportunities to meet artists in their studios.

Salida Aspen Concerts – Weekend Performances
Salida Aspen Concerts will host two concerts this weekend at A Church, 419 D Street in Salida. Local performers will present a program featuring jazz, show tunes, and classical favorites on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
These concerts serve as a fundraiser to help support the organization’s six summer concerts beginning July 11. Tickets are available at salidaaspenconcerts.org.

March Radness at Monarch Mountain
Monarch Mountain will host March Radness on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features a slope-style ski and snowboard competition and Fun Race in the Steel City Terrain Park. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Final Weekend for Cripple Creek Ice Castles
This weekend is the last chance to visit the Cripple Creek Ice Castles before the seasonal attraction closes. Tickets are available online at icecastles.com.

Civics Forum and Trivia – Monday
The League of Women Voters of Chaffee County will host a civics forum and trivia game Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Chaffee County Public Safety Complex. The event will feature guest speakers along with a civics trivia contest and prizes. The forum is free and open to the public.

Monarch Quilters Meeting – Monday
The Monarch Quilters group will meet Monday at Poncha Springs Town Hall. Social time begins at 9 a.m., and guests and new members are welcome.

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead this weekend. Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, when clocks spring forward one hour.
