Chaffee County’s Republican and Democratic parties have announced details for their upcoming county caucuses and assemblies, key events that help determine local party leadership and shape the upcoming primary ballot.
The Chaffee County Republican Party will hold its County Caucus this Saturday at Darren Patterson Christian Academy in Buena Vista. The party’s County Assembly is scheduled for March 28 at Poncha Springs Town Hall, where delegates will gather to conduct party business and consider candidates. The Colorado Republican State Assembly will follow on April 11.
Meanwhile, the Chaffee County Democratic Party will host its County Caucus this Saturday at Salida Middle School, with the County Assembly taking place immediately afterward at the same location.
Caucuses and assemblies play a key role in Colorado’s political process. During these meetings, party members elect local leadership, select delegates to represent them at higher-level assemblies, and vote on which candidates will appear on the June 30 primary election ballot.
Local party officials encourage registered party members to attend and participate in the process, which helps shape each party’s priorities and candidate lineup for the upcoming election cycle.
