There’s no shortage of things to do around the region this weekend, with holiday events, live music, markets, and winter attractions opening for the season.
Pleasant Valley RV Park in Howard is hosting “Santa on the River” tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Santa Claus will be on hand for photos with kids and pets, along with cookies and cocoa for visitors.
Local musician Chris Nasca will perform tomorrow as part of Monarch Mountain’s Little Booth Concert Series. Live music runs from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sidewinder Saloon.
The final Winter Farmers Market of the year takes place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. More than 35 vendors will be offering fresh produce, baked goods, gifts, and other locally made items.
At the Salida SteamPlant, the 1988 action classic “Die Hard” will be shown this Sunday at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at salidasteamplant.com. The SteamPlant will follow up on Monday night with a screening of the 1954 holiday favorite “White Christmas.”
Meanwhile, the Ice Castles in Silverthorne officially open today and will remain open through the end of January. There is no opening date yet for the Ice Castles in Cripple Creek, as organizers say warmer temperatures have slowed construction.
