Middle school students across the Upper Arkansas Valley, including those in public, private, charter, and home schools—are invited to participate in the National Civics Bee, a nonpartisan competition developed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The event is being organized locally by the League of Women Voters of Chaffee County and the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce.

To enter, students must submit a four-paragraph essay presenting a creative idea to improve their community. The top essay finalists will move on to a live quiz competition in Buena Vista on April 26.

The application portal and full details are available at lwvchaffeecounty.org.
