The Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce has made significant financial progress over the past six months, reducing its debt from $36,000 to just over $2,000, according to an email update from Chamber Board President Janene Ervin.
Ervin told members the board inherited the sizeable debt when it took over but has since worked to stabilize the organization’s finances. “We are current on our loan payments, funding our events with your support and creating exciting things for the upcoming year, including the reopening of the Visitor Center next summer,” she wrote.
The update also announced a new addition to the board: Wade Harris of Collegiate Peaks Bank, who joins as the chamber continues rebuilding efforts and planning for the year ahead.
