Places to Age is pleased to announce the success of its recent matching funds campaign. Launched in May, this campaign had the goal of raising $35,000 to unlock an additional $35,000 in matching funds, for a total of $70,000. The campaign exceeded expectations — ultimately bringing in more than $90,000 — thanks to the generosity of 109 community members and an increase in the matching contribution itself.
“This outpouring of support is about more than just reaching a fundraising target—it’s a powerful statement that our community wants an Assisted Living and Memory Care facility here in Chaffee County,” said board member Marilyn Bouldin. “It reflects a shared commitment to helping residents age close to home, with dignity and compassion. The broad community support gives us the energy to move this project forward and face the inevitable challenges ahead. At its heart, this development project is about something deeply human: caring for one another, especially as we grow older.”
The funds raised will support the preconstruction engineering and site planning phase—an essential step in advancing this much-needed development project.
