October 30, 1972 ~ April 12, 2024
On April 12, 2024, Jana Lynn Johnson peacefully slipped into Heaven surrounded by her family. The love that she showered others with while she was on Earth was showered on her by her Heavenly Father.
Jana was born to Linda Andersen and Phil Nutter on October 30, 1972. She passed away at the age of 51, a young life, but one with lots of travel throughout the world. Her accomplishments were many and her outreach was one filled with love and empathy, kindness, and compassion. Jana was an entrepreneur for over 30 years owning, designing, and selling high market handbags. She designed and created her own Lipedema machine to help herself with this condition plus helping many other women. She worked in all levels of government in fraud taking down criminals. She owned a VPA firm and was voted honorary member of the JIOA in Japan as the first female executive of Ziff Davis. She was chairman of the Pacific Rim Arts Council and was auditor of the Colorado USA pageant. She raised funds for a CNN documentary on slave trading and helped to release 150 girls from sex trafficking and educated them. She helped start an orphanage with Beyonce in Africa called the Isibindi Orphanage. She paid for underprivileged kids to go to college when they had no money. Jana ran a million-dollar nonprofit organization to help the elderly and youth in need. Winning the Coca Cola Scholarship paved the way for her education. She got her degree in accounting with the honor of Magna Cum Laude and received her CPA license. She won the distinguished CPA award in 1999 from the North Carolina CPA group. She was the winner of the Stanford University magazine publication division. She taught accounting at the university level and was voted Faculty of the Year several times.
Jana is survived by her parents, her sister, Sheri Gibson, and husband Jeff, her bestie friend and caregiver, Hope Ragsdale, and the son she always wanted, Dustin, her aunts and their spouses, Annette Heye and Pat DeLaRosa and Janie and Bob Breunig, nieces and nephews, and countless friends. It is important to mention Doug Stinnett who was a long-time friend and who was at Jana’s side every single day. Hope Ragsdale was her constant care giver and tended the care of Jana daily knowing her every need. Amanda Stinnett was her Hospice nurse and lovingly cared for Jana. The man she called Dad was I.N., and she talked with him often when she was worried about her dogs. Jana’s mantra was “loveiseverything”, and she passed away at 1:43 pm leaving us with the message of “I Love You.”
