Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Foundation is offering two scholarships of $2,500 each for current college students planning to pursue a career in healthcare.
The Charles J. Forster scholarships are available to any college students who currently live or have lived within the Salida Hospital District, which encompasses Chaffee, western Fremont and northern Saguache counties.
Applicants must be attending college in the fall of 2022, have a minimum college grade point average (GPA) of 3.2, and have already earned at least 24 college-credit hours. Applicants related to an HRRMC Foundation board member are not eligible to apply.

The HRRMC Foundation scholarship was renamed in honor of Charles J Forster, who was an HRRMC Board Member from 1996 to 2016 and HRRMC Foundation Board Member from 1998 to 2014. As chairman of the Foundation Board, Forster ensured multiple campaigns to raise money for HRRMC facilities.
