The U.S. Census continues, and census workers will begin knocking on doors of those who have not responded next Tuesday.

The Census says the Non-Response Follow-Up operation enables them to ensure that they achieve a 100 percent count.

Some people may be hesitant to answer the door for census takers during this time of COVID-19—the easiest way to avoid having a census taker visit your residence is to self-respond before August 11.  Fill out your census by going online to 2020census.gov or by calling 844-330-2020.

As a state, Colorado ranks 16th in the nation for self-response with a 66 percent response rate.

Chaffee County Census Coordinator April Bergeler will man a table with IPads for you to register and swag outside Vino Salida on County Road 120 today from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
