The 78th annual FIBArk begins its four-day run today, bringing whitewater competition, live entertainment, family activities, and community celebrations to Salida.

Events will take place throughout Riverside Park and along the Arkansas River.

Today’s festivities begin with the First Pour ceremony featuring Commodores Terry Deveney and Chuck Deveney at 3:45 p.m. The carnival rides and Kids Zone open at 4 p.m., followed by live music beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Athletic events get underway with the Tenderfoot Hill Climb at 6 p.m., followed by the popular Raft Rodeo at 6:30 p.m.

Festival activities continue through Sunday with a full schedule of races, competitions, concerts, and family-friendly events.
