Poncha Springs starts the day tomorrow with parade line up at 9am, the Poncha July 4th Parade begins at 10am.  A celebration follows at Chipeta Park from 11am to 2pm with strider bike races, watermelon eating contest, balloon toss, bouncy house and pie baking contest. 

Buena Vista has two days of festivities planned.

Friday begins with the Optimist Pancake Breakfast from 8am to 10am at Columbine Park.  The Independence Day Freedom 5K is at 8:30am.  The Buena Vista July 4th Parade begins at 10am.  Food trucks, a vendor village, beer garden and live music can be found in McPhelemy Park during the day. 

A fireworks display from the Sons of the American Legion starts at 9pm at the Rodeo Grounds. 

On Saturday, games, vendor village, beer garden and live music will be found in McPhelemy Park from 9am to 3pm. 

Salida also has two days of activities. 

Riverside Park opens at 12noon tomorrow with live music, food trucks, games and a beer garden.

The Salida July 4th Parade rolls down F Street at 1pm.  A lighted bike parade starts at 9pm followed by fireworks over Tenderfoot Mountain. 

On Saturday, the festivities continue in Riverside Park at 10am. Live music till 9pm, Salida Circus and Salida’s Got Talent will be featured.

Spiral Drive on Tenderfoot Mountain will be closed at the gate to all traffic—vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians tomorrow.  Biking trails that cross Spiral Drive will also be closed for the day.

Fairplay’s Independence Day Celebration starts at 10:30am with the Burro Buster 5K. 

Live music, food and drink can be found on 5th Street between Main and Front from 11am to 9pm.  The Fairplay parade begins at 4:45pm, fireworks at 9:15pm. 

Leadville celebrates the 4th with the Firecracker 5K at 8:30am, a parade down Harrison Avenue at 10am, the annual 4th of July Airport Cookout from 11am to 1pm and the Lions Club fireworks display from the top of Dutch Henry Hill at dusk. 

A pancake breakfast starts the 4th in Westcliffe from 7am to 10am at the Main Street Depot.  The Westcliffe July 4th parade starts on Main Street at 10am.  Fireworks begin at dusk.

Howard Hall is hosting a July 5th picnic and car show from 11am to 3pm.       

All residents and visitors are being asked to celebrate safely, responsibly, and legally by refraining from the use of personal exploding fireworks. 

The use of personal exploding fireworks is strictly prohibited in Colorado.  For those eager to enjoy fireworks, you are invited to attend the professional fireworks displays going on in the area.
