William Thomas Redmon Jr. (Bill) went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2026. Bill was deeply devoted to his relationship with Christ, family, friends and community.

Bill was born on April 9, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, and was raised there. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1972 and soon after enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served honorably at Dyess Air Force Base, Osan Korea AFB, and at McConnell AFB until his discharge in 1977.

In 1973, Bill married Valerie Lynn Farris in Roswell, New Mexico. Following his military service, he worked as a project manager for Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and later for Pevco. In 2002, Bill and his family moved to Buena Vista, Colorado, where he was employed by Swisslog Translogic Systems. He retired in 2012 following an aortic aneurysm.

He enjoyed working on his 69 acres and faithfully served as a deacon at Buena Vista Baptist Church. He was also a longtime member and chaplain of the American Legion. Bill facilitated Operation Evergreen, providing Christmas dinners, trees, and toys to families at the local pregnancy center. He initiated a weekly free lunch ministry, during the summers, at the park and was responsible for procuring and facilitating the Fourth of July fireworks display in Buena Vista. Every Easter, he held a Sunrise service out on his property.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Redmon Sr. and Elizabeth Marie Redmon; his sister, Helen “Cardy” Brandt; his brother-in-law, Bill Reed; his in-laws, Bill and Dona Farris; and his uncle, Don Madaris.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Redmon of Buena Vista; his beloved sister, Pamela Reed of Cockeysville, Maryland; his five children: Elizabeth Williams (Carmichael) of Murphy, Texas; Aubrey Shultz (Jeff) of Forest Hill, Maryland; Kristen Contreras of Allen, Texas; William Thomas Redmon III (Kelly) of Wylie, Texas; and John Redmon (Sandy) of Conway, Arkansas. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Maddison Brewer (Brandon), Caden Williams (Emily), Sydney Williams, Alexis Wilson (Justin), Ethan Shultz (Kasey), Taylor Byron (Josiah), Emma Grant (Hunter), Allie Contreras (Brad), Kristena Contreras, Domingo Contreras Jr., Emily Contreras, Elsie Redmon, and William “Liam” Redmon IV; and four great-grandchildren, Karlee and Jaxon Wilson, Malachi and Adaline Byron. Additional survivors include his aunt, Kay Madaris; his brother-in-law, Bill Farris (Carla); and his sister-in-law, Karla Dorsett (Darrell), niece: Amy Wilson (Wes), nephews: Charles Brandt (Tammy), Byran Farris (Katie), Brody Farris (Amber) and many great nieces and nephews.

 A viewing will be held at Buena Vista Baptist Church (30990 Co Rd. 356, Buena Vista, CO, 81211) on February 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill Redmon’s honor to Buena Vista Baptist Church for local missions.
