Wayne Richard Diesslin, age 81, long time Buena Vista resident passed away on Friday, January 5th, 2024, at the Bruce McCandless Veterans Community Living Center in Florence, Colorado.

Mr. Diesslin was born January 24, 1942, in Minnesota to Theodore and Teresa (Gangl) Diesslin. After Mr. Diesslin served his county in the Army, he lived in California and worked as a Machinist. While working as a Machinist, he worked on the Lunar Lander. He moved from California to Buena Vista to be closer to his twin brother Warren and work at Frontier Ranch.

While working at the Ranch, he met his wife Kay. He and his wife Kay were the founders of K’s Dairy Delite in Buena Vista.

Mr. Diesslin and his wife enjoyed bowling. They traveled all across the country participating in bowling tournaments. Mr. Diesslin loved the outdoors spending time hunting and hiking. Mr. Diesslin was a carpenter most of his life and in his later years he had the special opportunity to work with his son Kevin and nephew John at Diesslin Structures Inc.

Mr. Diesslin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kay Diesslin. He is survived by his sons Kevin (Jennifer) Diesslin of Buena Vista, CO, Randy (Martha) Boileau of Littleton, CO and daughter Sheila (Ralph) Myers of Jerome, Idaho. Twin brother Warren (Jennie) Diesslin of Nathrop, CO and numerous Nieces, Nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A viewing will take place from 1 to 4 pm on Thursday January 11, 2024, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Funeral Services are set for 1 pm Friday January 12, 2024, at Clear View Community Church in Buena Vista. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Buena Vista.
