Watkins Murder Trial Continued Due To COVID-19 Concerns

The scheduled jury trial in the case of a man accused in the shooting death of 27-year-old Jonathon Kern of Cotopaxi has been continued.

The murder trial of 64-year-old Earl Watkins was slated to begin June 16.  Because of health risks related to COVID-19, the nine-day trial will now begin August 11.

Watkins remains in Fremont County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
