A verdict of Guilty was reached on Friday in the murder case of Maria Day, also known in Leadville as Linda Martinez.
Day was found guilty of 2nd degree murder in the death of John Martinez. Day ran over Mr. Martinez on James Street in Leadville in July of 2015.
The trial was moved to Clear Creek County when an insufficient number of impartial jurors could not be found in Lake County.
Day is in the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections where she will remain until her sentencing, which has not been set.

His radio career has had stops in Nashville, Memphis, Oklahoma, and eventually, Colorado. Dan enjoys being involved in the community, having been a member of the Upper Arkansas Service Club and is currently on the board of directors for the Salida Community Center and is a member of the Chaffee County Fair Committee. He and his wife Carrie spend their days doing everything the mountains have to offer: hiking, camping, fishing and skiing. They've raised 3 children and have 2 grandchildren.
