Chaffee County Public Health is reporting two new positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total case count to 70.

The patient investigation and tracing has determined very low risk of spread of the virus due to the limited personal contact that they had and the prevention measures they had taken such as wearing masks.  The new cases are members of the same household.

Short-term rentals continue to remain closed until further notice.  Chaffee County does not know the date that the state will lift its restrictions.  Chaffee County Public Health is working on a way to streamline certification for short-term rentals once they are approved for reopening.

The maximum number of people in a social gathering remains at 10.

Chaffee County Public Health is amending the local public health order to increase the indoor occupancy of restaurants from 30 to 50 percent to be in line with the anticipated state-wide order.

Chaffee County Public Health Director Andrea Carlstrom said in a press release, “Public Health urges everyone to limit their travel outside the home as much as possible.  With nice weather and lifting of some restrictions, it is natural for all of us to want to get out to have some fun.  However, this is a good reminder that we got to this point because we followed all of the requirements and need everyone to be mindful of that.”
