Salida City Council Approves Extra Social Distancing Space for Businesses

The Salida City Council yesterday approved a resolution allowing streets and portions of sidewalks to provide more space for businesses.

The extra space will allow local restaurants and businesses to maintain social distancing regulations. The measure allows restaurants to increase outdoor seating and additional merchandising space for retail businesses.

The proposal would close F Street to vehicular traffic between Sackett and Second Street.  State Highway 291 (or First Street) would remain open to traffic.

The Buena Vista Board of Trustees also considered a measure at last night’s regular meeting to create additional serving space for food and retail establishments.

The Buena Vista resolution would also allow restaurants and stores to set up temporary outdoor seating and display areas using both public and private property.
