Light snow is expected in the high country tomorrow as a weather system moves through the area, bringing increasing winds ahead of it. Wind gusts are forecast to exceed 45 miles per hour, creating potentially hazardous conditions.

Because of the strong winds, tomorrow has been declared a no burn day.

In addition, Xcel Energy has indicated it may implement temporary power shutoffs during the afternoon hours. The possible shutoffs are due to a combination of near-record temperatures, dry fuels, and high winds, which increase wildfire risk. While Xcel has not yet made a final decision on power shutoffs, the company says it expects to activate its Enhanced Powerline Safety settings.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware, secure loose outdoor items, avoid burning, and prepare for the possibility of brief power outages.
